Welcome to open everything.
I am an artist/writer/academic interested in landscape, cultural geography and the experiences of everyday life. I explore the city as a performed and performative space, a palimpsest that records and rewrites the stories of those who have come and gone through the cityscape.
Ideas of journey and site are central to my practice and have formed the basis of a ongoing research project - Trace, Place and Space - I have been working on, alone and collaboratively, since 2001. This project has involved making work in the fields of text, image, music, film, performance and installation.
'Open everything' is the term that best explains my approach to exploring the city; a philosophy, a suggestion, a request...

"The purpose of art is not the release of a momentary ejection of adrenaline but rather the gradual, lifelong construction of a state of wonder and serenity"
